Business
Communication (BK2007)
Objectives
The
course aims at preparing the students to handle the oral and written
communication tasks they will need to perform in the workplace.
Format
Students
learn the theoretical aspects of both written and oral communication through
lectures on topics such as principles of communication,
business letters and reports, interpersonal communication, oral
presentations, negotiations and meetings.
In tutorials, students are given the opportunity to apply and discuss
these theoretical principles in contexts provided through a series of
integrated tasks.
The
course is learner-centred with the students working in groups and appraising
each other’s work critically. Projects
include a short formal report, a business letter and a group oral
presentation.
There
is continual assessment and a final examination.
